Miss Grand Philippines Samantha Bernardo's evening gown for Miss Grand International

LIPAD

This gown takes inspiration from the small bird with broad wings that is undoubtedly recognizable by its green body color and yellow throat called Yellow-throated leafbird.

This bird is endemic to Palawan, one of the worlds most beautiful island where Samantha Bernardo grew up.

This emerald green-colored gown is hand-embroidered with beads and sequins. Accentuated with gold crystals as a representation of the yellow throat of the bird and feathers from fibers extracted by hand and worked into fine threads woven together in the lower part of the gown.

Emerald green shows a woman’s growth, humility, and courage – characteristics that made our queen Samantha grand and awe-inspiring.

 MISS GRAND PHILIPPINES 2020 SAMANTHA MAE BERNARDO'S NATIONAL COSTUME

"AGILA"

The Costume was inspired by our National Bird - The Philippine Eagle also known as the Monkey-Eating Eagle or Great Philippine Eagle.

It is considered the largest of the extant eagles in terms of length and wing surface, the rarest and most powerful birds in the world.

This costume also intend to create awareness because the Philippine Eagle is critically endangered, mainly due to massive loss of habitat resulting from deforestation in most of its range.

Gold as the main color of the costume to represent the magnificent journey of our Queen.

And to pay homage to the MGI Golden Crown.

Just like gold it is extravagant, wealthy, rich and undestructible, like Samantha - A queen who never gave up on her dreams.

This Grade 8 student at Good Shepherd School dreams to be an entrepreneur like her parents by opening her own dance studio.

One of Dragon Talent Management newest recruits is twelve year old student of San Benildo in Cainta. Leone Alonzo Adriano is the second grand children of actress Rosanna Roces. He wants to be part of the entertainment business basically to help his family and eventually to be like his grandma who made her niche as a thespian in showbusiness.

We wish Leone all the best of luck in his new found career!
