Undaunted by the initial cancellation of Miss
Intercontinental and pressures to bring home the crown, Kris Tiffany Janson
expresses her confidence to bring home the title for the country. Kris is set
to leave for Germany on November 22 to take part in pre-pageant activities on
the lead up to the Miss Intercontinental happening on December 5 in
Maritim Hotel and Congress, Magdeburg.
“I respect the decision of the organizers to move
the pageant, with the utmost consideration on the international pageant
contestants’ safety. On a personal note though, I do pray that the conflict in
Jordan be resolved, and that its citizens be safe from casualties.”
Asked about whether she feels pressure, Kris
maintains a confident stance. “I know I have the courage and strength deep
within to represent the Philippines in Miss Intercontinental. I have my own
personality to showcase and the unique characteristics of the Filipina to allow
me to stand out in the competition,” Kris shares.
Her inspiration to win also runs deep, as she
dedicates her journey to the crown to her late father. “I pull strength from my
dad who was the first person to encourage me to join beauty pageants. I want to
realize his dreams for me and make him proud.”
Modesty aside, Kris’ power combination of beauty
and brains topped off with years of experience in modeling and pageants puts
her in a good position to dominate the competition. Kris’ background boasts of
a decade in modeling and a successful career as a finance analyst.
Kris spent months in rigorous preparation for the
pageant, with back to back trainings for personality development, Q&A,
social graces, pasarela, hair and
makeup. She also immersed herself in the history culture of Jordan and learned
the Arabic language.
Giving her an even bigger advantage was her
training with the former beauty queens, Shamcey Supsup, Venus Raj, Bea Santiago
and Johanna Datul. Their expertise and actual pageant experiences gave her
inspiration as well as real life advice on the competition. “Know yourself and
carry yourself well, believe in yourself and your capability to be a winner”
are words from the different beauty queens that Kris takes to heart.
